In the second day of vibrate!festival, The Mercury Quartet (Vlad Maistorovici | violin, Harry Cameron Penny | clarinet, Colin Alexander | cello, Antoine Françoise | piano) brought to the numerous audience at the Multicultural Centre of the Transylvania University, the Quartet for the end of time, by Olivier Messiaen. A masterpiece of chamber music of the 20th century. Olivier Messiaen was a prisoner in the Gorlitz camp during the Second World War, in 1941, when he composed, without having any instrument, the monumental chamber piece in eight parts. He was inspired by a verse from the Apocalypse of Saint John, Chapter X („that time shall be no longer”).
